Andrea Rodríguez Barbes is a Partner at EDN Abogados. In March 2026, EDN opened a representative office in Mexico, in strategic alliance with Rodríguez Barbes Asociados, under Andrea’s leadership. From Mexico, Andrea will support institutional investors and asset managers in their investment management activities, with a particular focus on alternative assets, cross‑border structures, and regional opportunities.
She is a Mexican lawyer specialized as well in mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, and contract law. Throughout her career, she has advised local and international companies and investors in domestic and cross-border M&A transactions across a variety of industries, providing strategic counsel in both the structuring and execution of sophisticated corporate transactions.
Most of her professional experience was developed at Creel, García-Cuéllar, Aiza y Enríquez, S.C. (one of Mexico's leading law firms) where she worked for eleven years across two periods, first as junior associate and paralegal, and later as senior associate of the Corporate and M&A team. She also gained international experience as an international lawyer in the Latin American Practice at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York City, and subsequently served at the United Nations International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals in Arusha, Tanzania. Prior to founding her firm, she served as General Counsel to AgileThought, Inc.
Andrea holds a Law degree from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), graduating with honors (2008); a Postgraduate Specialization in Business Law from Universidad Panamericana (2012); and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Harvard Law School (2014), where she focused on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and corporate law. Her undergraduate thesis was awarded a Special Mention at the ex-ITAM Research Award (Premio de Investigación ex-ITAM) in 2011.
She is fluent in Spanish and English.
