
Felipe Díaz Toro is the Founder and Managing Partner of EDN Abogados. He has developed a significant part of his carreer in the United States and Europe, first at BBVA Bank in New York, later at Arendt & Medernach (the largest law firm in Luxembourg), and at Loyens & Loeff (one of the most important law firms in Europe), where he held the position of senior associate.
His practice focuses mainly on advising latin american asset managers and pension funds on transactions related to investment funds (particularly alternative assets). His international experience, along with having successfully passed the corresponding qualification exams, has allowed him to become the first Chilean lawyer to be simultaneously admitted in Chile (Supreme Court of Justice of Chile, 2006), Spain (Madrid Bar Association, 2015), and Luxembourg (Luxembourg Bar Association, 2015).
Felipe holds a Law degree from Universidad Andrés Bello, graduating with honors, and additionally has a Postgraduate Degree in Business Law from the PontificiaUniversidad Católica (2005); an LL.M. in Banking and Financial Law from Boston University, United States (2007); a Certificate in Private Equity and Venture Capital from New York University, United States (2008); an Advanced Master in Business Administration (AMBA) from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez (2020); and is a certified director under the International Directors Certification Program of the Institute of Directors (IoD), London (since 2021).
Felipe is also an invited professor at the Law School of the University of Chile, teaching Investment Fund topics, and he is a Director of the Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce (BELGOLUX) in Chile. He is a regular panelist at various conferences related with investment funds and alternative assets.
He is fluent in Spanish, English, and French.
